Election debate on the ‘Smart Economy’

Ahead of the 2021 Dutch general election, representatives from six major political parties took part in a nationally televised live debate about the 'Smart Economy'.
Participants debated across three themes, with each introduced by a successful entrepreneur in the Dutch startup scene. During her introduction remarks for the third debate theme, Christina Caljê presented why the Netherlands needs to diversify and internationalize its talent pool in order to strengthen its position as a top startup ecosystem.

Mona Keijzer (CDA), Matthijs van Neerbos (PVDA), Steven van Weyenberg (D66), Tom van der Lee (GroenLinks), Renske Leijten (SP), en Dennis Wiersma (VVD) participated in a political debate organized by RTL-Z, Techleap.nl and Dutch Startup Association. The topics discussed covered:
Creating a competitive breeding ground for businesses to start and scale quickly
The role of digitization and tech entrepreneurship in the economic recovery
Creating an inclusive society with equal opportunities for all

During the nationally broadcast political debate on RTL-Z, Christina Caljé provides 1-minute introductory remarks on the need to internationalize and diversify its talent pool in order for the Netherlands to cement its position as a top tier destination for talent and scaleups.
Each candidate provided a 1-minute response to this debate theme, with Diana Matroos as facilitating moderator.
